The thing most people forget, when it comes to attitude and outlook, is that you get to decide how you see things and how you feel about them. You absolutely have all the power when it comes to how your day will look, how a certain situation will affect you or how much you are willing to let a difficult day throw you off course. The greatest thing, really, is that once you accept this and believe it, as well as know how to use this technique, you can change your entire in a single moment.
How It Works
Maybe at your last job, the one you had before you joined this elite group of entrepreneurs and launched your home-based business, you had to deliver some news to different employees. If this news had to be classified, it would certainly have fallen under the category of "bad news." Your boss sent you around to tell the rest of the members of your team that they would have to work part of the day on Saturday.
More than likely, the reactions were quite diverse. Surely, the overall consensus was that no one wanted to do that. More than likely, you had some people throw an absolute tantrum, others who mumbled something about their displeasure and maybe even a select few who shrugged, laughed it off and commented on how at least it was only half a day. The news was the same for each person; it was their outlook that changed the way they reacted to it.
That is all it is, really. The way you choose to see a situation and then react to it. Once you start to notice that, you can think before you react to anything. So if you are having a rough morning and start to let it build up to the point where you are ready to give up and write the whole day off, think about it. Calmly, right at that moment, decide to stop seeing things that way. Decide that you will not give a bad start to the day the power to ruin your whole day. Get in this habit, and you will notice that you can see things more positively on a regular basis.
Born This Way
You may be thinking that some people are just born with this positive outlook or natural ability to be optimistic. That may be true, but it doesn't mean you cannot still adopt this same attitude. While physical attributes, such as eye color, cannot be changed, your behaviors can.
For all you know, that person you know who always seems to be able to see everything in a positive light, may have been totally different at some point. Don't assume these happy-go-lucky people didn't actually have to put in effort and work to change their attitude.
Commit. Take action. Live your dream. See things in a whole new light and you will have the power to Play Your Best Game.
